Print these fantastic flying mini F44 jet and T22 club gliders as gifts, decorations, or cards. Use a thin (2mm cross section works well) rubber band on the included launcher and adjust for loops, daring zooms, and long flights. The fast, zoomy F44 is best flown outdoors in a park-sized area, as flights may be quite long. T22 is a docile, floaty flyer that can easily be hand-launched and can be flown in smaller spaces and yards, or even hand-launched indoors in a large room. Fun for kids or the young at heart...these are the gliders I wish I could have bought when I was a kid! Includes ornament card sets and an F44 with integral canopy for easier assembly. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Steel Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 30% Notes: Orient print so that first layer infill is wingtip to wingtip, not front and back. Optional for multicolor on single color printer, as shown in pictures: pause and change filament at 0.45mm. Also can be printed at 0.2mm if scaled up to 1.333x for a bigger glider! The F44 can be printed on a 100mm or larger bed, the T22 requires about 125mm. Description: A high-performance glider ideal for looping flights and long glides. Plastic: ABS Layers: 0.15mm Fill: 30% Perimeters: 2 Solid Layers: 2 Orientation: First layer spanwise wingtip to wingtip, alternate by 90 degrees. A 45-degree (or non-right angle) axis will cause asymmetrical wing warping under load (bad). Build Notes: Allow to cool before carefully removing from build platform. The wings are easily deformed during removal, and must be absolutely symmetrical for proper flight. Removal with a very thin plastic spatula (print one!) is preferred. Test fit and trim if necessary prior to final assembly with a very small amount of CA Glue. Flight Notes: The F series are roll-sensitive due to their low aspect ratio wings. Launching is by hand or with a 1/16" x 8" (2mm) rubber band. Rubber band launch is recommended for best results. (The micro F47 requires a much smaller band.) A band that is too short will cause the glider to strike the launcher or your hand. Test and adjust by hand-launching first. Some of the models are difficult to hand-launched and should be tested with a 1/16" rubber band instead. A slight elevator-up reflex is required for flight. This is accomplished by latching the elevons up on the relex tabs on the aft end of the fuselage. These tabs may be adjusted by filing to achieve desired flight characteristics. After the desired flight profile is attained, a tiny drop of glue will prevent the elevons from moving from their latched position. To correct turning or spiraling, differential elevator control (elevon) is preferred, though some aileron bending may be needed if the wings are warped from improper bed removal. Carefully bend this in with finger pressure, but avoid creasing or excessive strain. A gradual test/adjust cycle is recommended.
