Flying extruder mod for Geeetech G2S Pro
thingiverse
This flying extruder mount is a combination of two other mounts:\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:991638\nhttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1259941\nI own a G2S, which is a dual extruder system, but I'm only using one of my extruders for simplicity's sake.\nI thought it would be nice to unbolt the second extruder and use it in a "flying" configuration to enable me to print flexible materials such as TPU.\nI liked the surgical elastic used in the Sextruder, but wanted to utilize my spare motor and extruder instead.\nThere is an A-frame that fits the NEMA17 extruder motor, which has three push connectors for surgical tubing.\nThe bottom section is used to hold the motor onto the A-frame (you need to print two of the bottom sections). Three short lengths (about 7cm unstretched) of surgical tubing are pushed onto the A-frame.\nThese are then pushed onto connectors that have M3 captured nuts pushed into them, which are bolted on to the carriages.\nIMPORTANT! I've modified this printer to use Hall effect endstops:\nhttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1515928\nwhich leaves a space in the carriage after removal of the mechanical actuator.\nThis is where I'm attaching my connectors to. If you're still using the mechanical endstops, you'll need to come up with a different solution.\nThere's a hole in the top of the printer where the second extruder used to be. Tap the filament feedthrough out to M5 and screw in a couple of pushfit connectors.\nThe feedthrough will then bolt onto the top of the printer.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: \n Geeetech G2S Delta\n \n Rafts: \n No\n \n Supports: \n No\n \n Resolution: \n 0.1mm\n \n Infill: \n 30%
