Flying Extruder Kit for Kossel Mini and Delta. Works with any delta too. See video below to see it in action. I want to thank WASProject of Italy for their Suspended Bowden, which inspired this Flying Extruder design. Check out http://www.wasproject.it/w/bowden-sospeso-di-wasproject/ for more info. The STL file included is for the extruder drive gear with a 6mm effective ID and 8mm OD (gear_radius=0). If you have an MK8 drive gear, change this value in the SCAD file to get it right. Add 1.5 to gear_radius if your gear has an 11mm OD. Don't print plug.stl - it's used for the SCAD file to "tap" a 1/8 BSPT thread. Customization is easy with the included SCAD files. The Nema 17.scad file comes from Johann's Kossel Mini files. You'll need: M3 x 16mm screws for the nipples M3 x 35mm screw for knob M3 flat washer to insert in slot at back of extruder body M3 nut to insert at bottom of back of extruder body (to mate with knob) M3 x 24mm x 3 screws for mounting motor M3 x 12mm x 2 or similar course thread screws to fix plate to body Clear epoxy to glue fitting to body, as well as fixing the tightening screw to the knob. Bearing 16x8x5 for idler Bolt M5 x 16mm for idler hub (A simple 5mm dia x 20mm rod will also do. I used a 5mm rivet) 3/16" ID x 100mm x 3 Rubber Hose for suspending the plate to the nipples Print Settings: Printer: Kossel Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 30 Notes: Use solid infill for fitting. Print with 3 perimeters. Post-Printing: Glue fitting to extruder body. Insert the fitting into the extruder body front. Parts may need some filing to fit properly. Remove fitting from body and apply some epoxy to both mating sides. Re-insert the fitting to the body. Align the filament passage holes properly before the glue sets. I used a 2mm drill bit to make sure the holes are aligned. Custom Section
