How it works: https://youtu.be/spw1ihSzrZo Hello all, I created this flying extruder mod for my BIQU printer because it's far better at preventing extrusion problems with long PTFE tubes and flexible filaments. Now the tube is only 70mm long, down from 650mm. This can prevent issues with too many retractions, avoid extruding flexible filaments, prevent filament bending in the tube, etc..... I designed this mod for my BIQU Kossel Pro printer, but it should work with any delta printers that have a 20x20 aluminum profile and standard linear guides (you may need to change pendulum size; if you need other sizes, ask me and I'll make them). Follow these instructions carefully for a good result! What you need: * Print all my STL files * A 40mm stepper motor * Two 625 bearings * Twelve M2x4 hex screws * Two M5x30 hex screws and two M5 nuts * Two M4x8 hex screws and two T-nuts (boat nuts) * Two to four M3x14 hex screws (depending on your extruder type) * An elastic tensioner or sewing elastic * A rope or very thin steel cable INSTRUCTIONS: Mount the extruder on the extruder support and weigh them. Find something with the same weight (I found a 1306K bearing that has exactly the same weight). You can use bolts, nuts, or even print a weight! Mount the carriage supports Mount the pendulum Cut an approximately 130mm PTFE tube (60mm inside the extruder and 70mm outside) Find the center of gravity using the notches created for this purpose in the extruder support Install the weight and the extruder on the pendulum with the rope and (don't use anything elastic!) and plug in the PTFE tube. IMPORTANT: Move the extruder from up to down by hand and verify if the rope is long enough or too long!! Attach the elastic stretchers or sewing elastic to the three arms of the extrusion support (I used hard steel wire to secure them) Attach the other side of elastics to the carriage supports while trying to tighten them a little so that the extruder remains in the center! I attached the extruder to the delta center with cable ties to avoid forcing the tube holder. You can see white cable ties on photos. Think about liking or saying thanks if you love it, and share your made one:)) I am not responsible for any damage or destruction of the printer. This awesome and cheap printer can be ordered here: https://goo.gl/83UBDp (not sponsored link; I just love this printer!) If you have any suggestions or questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
