This specific design had to be created because existing brackets didn't fit properly. The extruder is held in place by 3mm PVC tubing, often sold as elastic twine at garden centers, with 2.9 x 9.5 mm wood screws inserted into the ends of the tube. The holes in the base plate are carefully designed to snugly fit around this setup, while still allowing for easy installation and removal, so you can attach the tubes after mounting the extruder and stepper motor. A hole on the side wall provides access to the idler tension adjustment screw.
