Update: 3/17/2016 Added Counterweight Suspension System for the Flying Extruder to eliminate extra load on stepper motors. This makes the whole extruder virtually weightless. Please print New Plate.stl, which moves the suspension point at the center of gravity of the motor and is adjustable. Check out new file and video. Sorry pulleys are still in beta but they work! Thanks! You will need a slightly longer bowden tube since you'll raise the extruder. Replace the knob with an M3x25mm screw and washer, and cut a piece of rubber tubing to act as a spring to push the lever onto the filament. I'd like to give credit to WASProject from Italy for their Suspended Bowden design, which inspired this Flying Extruder. http://www.wasproject.it/w/bowden-sospeso-di-wasproject/ The extruder design is based on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:63674 The STL file includes the extruder drive gear with 6mm effective ID and 8mm OD (gear_radius=0). Change this value in the SCAD file if you have an MK8 drive gear (if 11mm OD, add 1.5 to gear_radius, i.e., (11-8)/2). DO NOT print plug.stl; it's used for the SCAD file to "tap" a 1/8 BSPT thread. SCAD files are included for your customization. (Nema 17.scad file is from Johann's Kossel Mini files)
