Flyfishing Line Tool
thingiverse
I was looking for an easy way to tidy up and switch out my flyfishing lines quickly. My initial concept was really intricate - check out another design I've shared on this site if you're curious. This one, though, is a bit more straightforward and compact enough to take along with you. The head piece is separate from the rest of the design, so pay attention to how it's positioned on the print bed for maximum strength. It's worth noting that this applies to all components - check out the photo showing where I messed up by not securing one part properly. Inside the vise grip is a layer of 3 mm foam for added cushioning. Before you attach the foam, though, you'll need to heat up the claw with a nail on the spindle (which, naturally, screws into the frame).
