Flybot Mini Race Wing Mods (WIP)
thingiverse
These are the mods made to my Flybot Mini Race Wing. I've only flown this model for three weeks now, but as my first wing, I've broken it a few times already, although I've managed to fix it so far. Anyway, I decided to make some mods to make it more robust and user-friendly. 2in1 winglet screws I kept losing the nylon screws that held the winglets in place during crashes, and it took a long time to unscrew them at the end of the day. These 2in1 screws keep the winglets secure with a rubber band. You'll need to make a couple of small holes for the rubber band and cut out a spot on the winglet to hold it. The rubber band might slightly block airflow, but that's not a big deal in my opinion. Another great thing is that you can easily remove the winglets and lay them flat on the wing, making travel much easier. 50% infill - this adds 3g-5g to the original weight 3D Printed Walls This is an experimental idea I found online. I haven't printed it myself yet, but I identified the weak points of the fuselage as the middle of the top plate and the bottom plate where the three standoffs are. I've broken mine before, but I fixed it with epoxy glue for now. These walls should prevent the carbon fiber plates from bending in crashes. I'll try to improve this idea when I break my wing next time - don't want to fix it while it's still working!
