A Handy Tool for Fly Tiers. Besides printed items, you'll need a few basic supplies to create this simple bobbin: Long M4 screw with a hex head. File the screw partially, making sure it fits snugly into the D-shaped hole. M4 nut. A piece of tube from a pencil refill is also essential. A little wheel cut from rubber foam is needed as well. Optional: Glass beads can be glued into the end of the pencil refill to create a near-ceramic bobbin.
