I often apply an ABS slurry, comprised of 90% Acetone with minor variations, to facilitate parts adhering to the print bed during printing. For small applications requiring minimal amounts of slurry, I've discovered that inexpensive flux brushes from hardware stores make excellent spreading tools due to their bristles' resistance to acetone.
