This device reduces water movement for Betta Fish, preventing them from being tossed around. Other methods found online merely reduced flow or blocked it altogether. A more complex design uses a spray bar to distribute water throughout the entire tank. Notes on Design: The diffuser bars are essential as they prevent water from hitting the inside face and shooting straight out of the top. They also ensure an even flow across the entire top of the Baffle opening, preventing fish from getting stuck and injured. The holes in the bottom allow for water under the Baffle to circulate freely, preventing stagnation and ensuring that not too much water flows over the top. There are two files available: One prints flat but requires strategic supports, especially for the inlet, to prevent distortion. This version also includes pre-installed supports to hold up the diffuser bars, further slowing the flow of water. The second file has a 45-degree angle, allowing it to be printed with minimal supports. It does not include internal supports to hold up the diffuser bars, maximizing water flow. For safety concerns, I closely monitor the health of the tank. As this is a new setup, if it doesn't work out, we'll know how safe this design is. The presence of several Bubble Nests is a clear sign of a happy and healthy Betta. This device uses Anycubic Eco Resin, which has been in use for several weeks with regular water testing for unusual chemicals bleeding out. No issues have been detected so far. Fish and aquatic plants serve as great indicators of water quality, both are thriving. I make no guarantees about the safety of your fish with this resin. It's attached to the filter return, pumping every bit of water in the tank through it several times a day. If there was going to be a problem, it would have shown in plant or fish health by now. However, I make no guarantee since manufacturers can change resin composition at any time without notice.
