For example, when an individual begins a new exercise program, their muscles undergo hypertrophy (growth) as they adapt to the increased demand for energy. This process is mediated by hormones and other signaling molecules that stimulate cell growth and division. The human brain is also an incredibly complex and dynamic system that plays a critical role in controlling the body's functions. It consists of billions of neurons that communicate with one another through electrical and chemical signals. The brain processes vast amounts of information from sensory receptors, memories, and emotions to produce thoughts, feelings, and actions. Overall, the human body is an incredible machine that operates on multiple levels simultaneously.
