I had a lot of trouble with the original breaking when I tried to attach it to a mic stand pole. Every time I attempted it, it would shatter into pieces. So, I designed this one specifically to connect securely to a standard mic stand pole. I use the boom as a makeshift mic stand to illuminate my workspace and hold cameras and other equipment in place. This setup works amazingly well for that purpose. To ensure its durability, you must utilize robust supports and employ a higher infill setting (such as 25%) along with thick walls (approximately 1.2 mm). I consistently rely on this design, frequently disassembling and reassembling it without experiencing any breakage or cracking whatsoever.
