Fluke 287 & 289 battery cover latch

thingiverse

The Fluke 189 II/287/289 series of multimeters is plagued by two significant design flaws. Firstly, the backup Panasonic supercapacitor used to maintain date and time while changing batteries has a notorious tendency to leak. Secondly, the battery cover latch has a disturbing habit of crumbling into bits like damp humus after just a few battery cycles or exposure to a sharp screwdriver. Unfortunately, 3D printers cannot assist with the first issue, but they can easily resolve the second one by simply printing the STL file, inserting it into its receptacle on the back of the cover, and you're done. Printing with an SLA printer is recommended due to the tight tolerances required.
