Fluidic Vortex Amplifier

Fluidic Vortex Amplifier

thingiverse

The Vortex Amplifier is a fluidic component designed to boost a fluidic signal. It works by amplifying the resistance to flow, which is induced by a weaker control flow creating a vortex within the chamber. As a result, when you apply flow to the control flow port, you'll observe reduced output flow. To assemble the Vortex Amplifier, print both 'Vortex_amplifier.stl' and 'Vortex_Plate.stl', then bolt them tightly using M5 screws. If you face leakage issues, use double-sided tape between the plates. Alternatively, print as one piece by using 'Vortex_amp_assem.stl'. Connect it to other fluidic elements via 5/16" tubing. To experience a fascinating demonstration, run water through it and leave the output port empty; you'll see a conical jet form upon applying control flow pressure. Lastly, connect a fluidic oscillator to the control port for even more exciting applications like creating small fountains.
