Fluidic Diodes
grabcad
Fluidic diodes are single-directional valves featuring stationary components, exhibiting varying pressure disparities based on input side location. Diodicity represents the ratio of reverse to forward flow pressure drop for identical flow rates, influenced by geometry, size, nozzle arrangement, and Reynolds number. Vortex diodes induce a throttling effect due to turbulence from fluid flow; one-sided axial flow is unrestricted while tangential flow from the opposite side produces a vortex. The current model is a spherical depiction of the typical discoid vortex valve, printable without internal support structures.
