FLSUN Titan Xcarrier
thingiverse
I assembled my FLSUN i3 2017 printer and decided to install a Titan direct drive extruder, but the stock X-carrier wasn't wide enough to securely mount the motor in place. I modified the dimensions of the X-carrier to ensure a proper fit. Based on the design found here: https://grabcad.com/library/e3d-titan-extruder-assembly-for-thk-linear-rail-1, I adjusted the vertical segment to accommodate my needs. This modification works seamlessly for both the V6 and Volcano extruders. However, please note that you may need to adjust the design based on your specific bed thickness, as this can affect the overall performance of your printer. One thing to keep in mind is that your printer will lose approximately 10mm of print bed space along the X-axis. I also chose to remove the X-limit switch holes from the stock design and instead opted for Thing:2521758 limit switch support, which I highly recommend using. You can find this excellent resource here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2521758. In a subsequent revision, I refined the extruder bracket to eliminate any interference issues and reduced unnecessary structure to improve overall efficiency. Additionally, I increased the vertical supports on the X-carrier to provide more surface area for gluing or welding, ensuring a strong and secure connection.
