FLSUN SR Mosquito Hot End Cage
thingiverse
So... I didn't exactly remix Nissenko's effector cage, I recreated it and modified it for the Mosquito hot-end. (this was before they uploaded the step file). so I'm including the Step file and the freecad files if you want to modify. This was done very very quickly (like in 30 minutes) based on rough measurements of Nissenko's design, but I'm using it right now and it works awesome. I didn't bother to recreate the clamp, so I've included the original. as with the original print face down on the hot end fan side. NOTE: Adding 5105 fans to this will make it heavier than stock. I tried. if you're doing this for weight to go faster stick with the stock fans and you'll save over 40g! NOTE YOU WILL NEED TO MODIFY THE EFFECTOR PLATE TO MOUNT A MOSQUITO HOT END MORE INSTRUCTIONS: so the hot end sits a WHOLE LOT higher than the stock volcano... at least 7-10mm higher. The bottom of the black heatsink on the mosquito is basically at level with the floor of the effector plate. SO in addition to cutting a big square hole in the effector plate. you're also going to need to take off the probe magnet and adjust that or it will be lower than the hotend. Good news is that my SR had the old style magnet ... (the posts were silver extenders) so removing the silver extenders made the magnet short enough to fit the Mosquito. You will ALSO need to print new cooling fan nozzles. I took the SR Volcano ones and shrunk the z-axis to 17.5
