This solved a few issues I was having with my QQ-S: 1: Air that was meant to cool the heat-sink for the cold-end was passing over the heater-block often causing a thermal run away error at the beginning of a print or within the first two layers. 2: That same air was causing unwanted cooling, especially for more sensitive materials such as ABS and was even causing issues with PETG and sometimes PLA (depending on ambient temperature). 3: The stock cooling ducts were wholly inadequate, making fine details more difficult to print. 4: My probe had a slight wobble to it every time it struck the build surface. This isn't acceptable for obvious reasons so I addressed that as well. As an added bonus, this is approximately 34% lighter than the stock hardware. -------------IMPORTANT NOTES------------- **You cannot use the stock 40x20 cooling fan on this as it will cause the rods to crash into the fan. You will need to convert to a 24v 40mm x 10mm fan. If you don't get the absolute cheapest fan you can find you won't have any loss in CFM or overall cooling performance. **I printed all of the parts in ABS (For heat resistance) on my Ender 3 and I have not had any issues with deformation due to radiant heat from the heater block. I would NOT recommend using PLA and I cannot speak for PETG. Although I'm sure you could use PETG and it would last long enough to print an effector in ABS. I have a similar set up on my Ender 3 and it has lasted over 100 hours with no issues. **There are two cooling duct lengths posted, one is for the Mk8 Style nozzle that comes stock and the other is for a Micro-Swiss nozzle I have been using. ====> Found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BDL4N4S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 **When installing the magnets into the probe mount, make sure they attract properly to the mount's magnet and then place them in their respective orientations in the probe mount. If you don't do this then the polarity of the magnets will likely force the probe off the mount instead of hold it securely! **The cooling ducts should fit tightly up against the flange. If they are loose or have any wobble, you risk them crashing into the print at some point. If they are loose try changing your slicing tolerance in Cura to "Exclusive" and print them again. -------------B.O.M------------- 4 - M3 x 8mm Flat head screws (Hot-end mount fasteners) 8 - M2 x 8-10mm Cap head screws (Blower Mounts) 6 - M3 Hex nuts 1 - 40mm x 10mm 24V Fan 2 - ND Magnets 8mm Diameter x 3mm height (Magnets for the probe) 2 - M3 x 6mm screws (For Probe mount) 4 - M3 x 10mm Cap head screws (Fan Mount) 2 - M3 x 25-30mm Cap head screws (Hot-end clamping)
