FLSun Q5 Motor Brace
thingiverse
This is a model shared by FLSun to build motor braces. It's essential if you're using an outdated model. I didn't design this. After printing, attach an M4 hex nut to the underside of the brace and screw it into the 2 smaller holes on top of the motors using existing NEMA holes. You might need longer M3 screws for this (12mm or 15mm will work). Next, drill three holes in the steel lid of the printer. I used a battery drill with an M4 HSS metal drill bit; it went through easily. To mark the spot, I used a compass and measured the distance between existing holes and the brace hole, then projected the point to drill. Once done, place the lid on and screw in the braces first, followed by the rest of the lid without tightening the screws fully. After all screws are in place, tighten them completely.
