FLSun I3 X Axis compatible with official Prusa mount
thingiverse
This is a total overhaul of the Flsun i3 X gantry's design. It now allows you to integrate PrusaResearch I3 mk2 components, which offer superior design and built-in fan ducts for both hotend and heat sink, as well as a mount for a capacitive bed sensor. You also gain the option to use a standard extruder for flexible filaments, the primary reason I created this redesign. I've reworked the Prusa parts to accommodate either the stock FLsun hotend with or without bowden, which is an E3d v5 clone. Parts not included here are available from Prusa research. If you prefer to use your original FLSun hotend with your standard extruder and bowden setup, simply print Xaxisprusamod.stl, ExtrudermountBowden.stl, and ExtruderMountCover.stl from this location, then print fan-nozzle.stl from prusaresearch's official i3 mk2 files. To use your original FLSun hotend with the Prusa-style direct-extruder setup, you need to print Xaxisprusamod.stl, ExtrudermountBase.stl, and ExtruderMountCover.stl from this location. Then, you'll require fan-nozzle.stl and Extruder-Idler.stl from prusaresearch's official i3 mk2 files. For an E3d v6 style hotend, only Xaxisprusamod.stl is required. All other components can be printed from the i3 mk2 files. The Xaxisprusamod.stl part assembles in a manner identical to your Flsun xaxis gantry, with no fans added. After that, hardware assembly involves M3 screws and follows the official version's guidelines. You'll need hex nuts and square nuts. All screws should match the assembly guide for http://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/5.+Extruder+Assembly/114. The dimensions will be nearly identical. The blower fan can be swapped, as it is the right size. However, the Flsun's default fan is 40mm. You have two options: swap it with a 30mm fan or print a 30-40mm adaptor from Thingiverse. TO DO: The v5 hotend is slightly longer than the v6. At some point, I'd like to extend this so that the part cooling fan points at the part better. For now, it works fine; however, I plan to revisit this when I have more prints completed and can identify what else needs redesigning. Edit: I forgot to countersink a hole on Extrudermountcover. The corrected file has been reuploaded.
