Flsun I3 - Stubby - A Parts Cooler
thingiverse
My first attempt at creating a custom 3D model involved modifying BoyDrone's parts cooler to suit my specific needs. After upgrading to an E3D V6 hotend on my Flsun I3 printer, I realized that the fan mounts in the front didn't align with this new upgrade. To resolve this issue, I modified BoyDrone's design by removing a portion of the front and adding a mounting hole for the fan. An M2x4mm screw from one of my Quadcopter builds worked perfectly for this purpose; however, any small screw would be suitable. To install this modification, you'll need to drill a hole in the fan housing where the new mount will reside. Locate the tab on the outside of the fan and use it as a guide to determine the correct position for the hole. Then, carefully bore a small hole using an Xacto knife. I created two versions of this modified design: one with a raised platform that accommodates the V6 hotend's height, and another flat version that fits more snugly around the V5 hotends. While the flat version also works with the V6 hotend, clearance is extremely tight in this configuration.
