Hi, This is my first project I am new to 3d printing but I think it's quite well polished The thing started when I saw that original kit was horribly designed It worked mechanically but had huge flaws I was very disappointed with X carriage disposition so I started to work on it Printing quality improved a lot because belts are tight now and Z axis runs smooth not like before when the z carriage twisted when tightening belts This is an overhaul for Z carriage to match standard Prusa mk2 which I saw once and was sturdier and stiffer much better than our original kit It changes disposition of Z rods smooth and threaded one to be parallel to XZ plane It also makes stiffer the Z stepper position before it used to bend the acrylic because of weight Separation between rods is 17mm so you can use other mods that uses this Z carriage size Needed things -2 units of 8mm Steel rods of a length between 330-360mm -A new belt as the wider X carriage original one was not enough -2x 608zz bearings for the upper rod holders I recommend using 4mm T-nuts for the frame rails and washers this improves stiffness of the whole mounting I also used some mods that fits perfectly without modification they are shown on pics FLsun I3 X Axis compatible with official Prusa mount 30mm fan needed https://www.thingiverse.com/thing2196078 Original prusa mk2 X carriage http//www.prusa3dcomprusai3printableparts Smooth X-axis for Prusa i3 with Leadscrews 17mm ones For X endstop just drill the Xmotor part https//www.thingiversecomthing1103976 Y Mod by nuvh Y idler bracket Y stepper mount and Y rods mount modified for better printing quality This mod makes you lose a bit printing height 165 mm max https//www.thingiversecomthing2278907 https//www.thingiversecomthing2259865 Extruder mine was completely bended and this works great but needs mk8 drive gear https//www.thingiversecomthing1064390 Z endstop this works but I will probably modifying it to better fit my mod https//www.thingiversecomthing2048915 Tell me if you find any issues with this mod or if you find better mod combinations or if you just find it great or crap Comments and thumbs are welcome
