Delta Printer Ball Joint Housing. My FLSun Delta Printer has been experiencing some minor problems with its ball joints, which are located on the arms of the printer. To resolve this issue, I've decided to create a brand-new housing for these joints. The balls themselves measure approximately 8mm in diameter and fit snugly into their respective housings. To fabricate these new housings, I opted to use ABS plastic. However, I plan to replace them with nylon in the near future. Removing the existing aluminum casings from the old ball joints was relatively straightforward. Using a small bearing with an internal diameter larger than that of the balls, I carefully tapped out each ball using a bolt and hammer. A few gentle taps were sufficient to dislodge each one. Once the new ABS plastic housings were printed, I secured them firmly onto a wooden workbench. Utilizing a mallet, I tapped each housing into place within its designated area.
