Floyd Rose Tremolo Tuning Wedge

Floyd Rose Tremolo Tuning Wedge

thingiverse

This is a handy wedge that makes it easy to swap strings and adjust a floating tremolo like the famous Floyd Rose. To get started, choose a wedge size that fits snugly between the tremolo block and the back of the cavity - if you can't find one, simply edit the design file and create your own custom size. First, take off the backplate from your guitar. Next, loosen the locking nut to free up some slack. Now, position the wedge between the tremolo block and the wall in a way that prevents the block from moving backwards - make sure the tremolo is perfectly level with the body of the guitar. Loosen the screws holding the claw just a bit, this will keep the block in place due to the tension from the strings. Replace one string at a time, then tune your guitar. Tighten the locking nut, and finally, tighten the claw screws until the wedge pops out - adjust the screws until the tremolo is perfectly level with the body of the guitar.
