The Coriolis force-based measuring principle involves superimposing translational and rotational movements which always generate these forces. FC is calculated as 2 times Δm (v * ω), where Δm is the moving mass, v is the velocity in the system, and ω is the rotational speed. In Promass sensors, instead of constant ω, oscillation is used. Sensors employ two parallel tubes with flowing fluid that oscillate antiphase like a tuning fork, causing Coriolis forces which induce phase shifts in tube oscillations.
