Update 2020-07-07: Uploaded a brief video clip. https://youtu.be/zTQBQT12BsQ Update 2020-06-27: Successfully maidened it today. It flies exceptionally well, requiring no modifications whatsoever. CG for the maiden flight was set at 10mm in front of the marker on the wing. Handlaunching the model was effortless. The motor behaves neutrally when accelerating, exhibits no torque roll after launch with the motor off and a 7x5 pusher prop on 4s power. Extremely stable. Impressed myself. Download and print it now - guaranteed fun! I've been eager to design and build a RC flying wing for quite some time now, and finally had the chance during the lock-down here. My intention was to post a printable simple model that has proven to fly well. However, as we won't be allowed to go RC flying here for the next three weeks or so, I decided to do a pre-post instead. Hopefully someone is keen to print and maiden this design to give me some feedback? Details: Wingspan = 900mm Sweep = 300mm Take-off weight = 580 grams (3s1500) Motor = 2212/1400KV or other diameter 22 Servo = 9gr metal gear Airfoil = similar HS522 (with S-bend) Wing tilt = -5° Dihedral = 0° Motor angle = -3° Battery = max = 1300/4s CG = tow marks at the bottom of the main body (Theoretical = 192mm from the nose) Each part except for the motor mount needs to be printed in a mirrored design, which can easily be done with your slicer. I hope you have lots of fun with this design! Any questions, requests and suggestions, please comment.
