Human: Heart and flowers were meticulously modeled in Mathematica separately before being edited, scaled, and combined using MeshMixer for the "Surprise Box" 3D printing project. The original file, named "Flowery_Heart_Right_Size_2," was the starting point, but it had several issues that made it unsuitable for most 3D printers, including too many shells and excessively thin petals. The updated version, titled "ReallyFinally3stl_repariedsimplied," has been thoroughly cleaned, solidified, error-checked, strengthened, and simplified. This revised model is now ready for printing and will be tested within a few days with the results posted here soon. To achieve this update, the original flower models were modified by adjusting the mathematical formulas in Mathematica, resulting in three distinct flowers. A fascinating discovery was made when changing the power of one formula, revealing that it could generate a butterfly-like shape. This inspired the addition of a butterfly to the new version. Software such as MeshLab and NetFabb Basic were used for cleaning and simplifying the models, all of which are free to use. After completing the printing process, I utilized powdery SLS material, which resulted in a hollow effect inside the heart. Although SLA could also produce this model, it might be more expensive and fragile compared to SLS. However, SLA can provide a smoother surface finish.
