The flower test is a simple yet effective way to determine if your soil has the right pH level for optimal plant growth. To perform the test, dig a small hole about 6-8 inches deep and fill it with water. Then, add one tablespoon of white vinegar per quart of water and stir well. Next, carefully pour the mixture into the hole you dug earlier. If the mixture fizzes or bubbles, your soil is likely too alkaline and needs to be adjusted. On the other hand, if there's no reaction, your soil pH is probably within a suitable range for most plants.
