Flower press
thingiverse
I'm making 3D printed parts for a simple flower press. To start, take two wooden boards and drill a hole in each corner to fit a screw clamp. Each clamp consists of an m10 screw, some washers, and either a wing nut or a printed screw knob. You can see the pictures for how to assemble it. The feet will hold the head of an m10 screw in place so that it does not move when clamping the boards together. You may need to adjust it to fit the washers you have available. They were designed around what I could get at the local hardware store and I found out that washer sizes can vary. Use a pair of small wood screws to attach the feet to the board. Using screw knobs is optional. You can use wing nuts instead. The screw knob has a hole for a captive m10 hex nut. Pause the print once it reaches the top of the hole and insert the hex nut, then resume the print. On my printer, I can do this by inserting the following lines into the gcode: G1 X10 Y150; user stop M1; Insert it right before the "G1 F***" command that moves the printer to the layer after the hex nut hole. The exact layer will depend on how you slice it. Your printer may need a different set of commands.
