Flower Press cnc/laser
thingiverse
A thoughtful gift for my daughter, a little flower press made with love. The large thumbscrews provide effortless handling, making it easy to use. Paper circles are used to carefully press the flowers. It's worth considering swapping screws and nuts to make insertion easier, especially when working with upwards-facing screws. My build was created on a desktop CNC machine from Stepcraft using 6.5 mm beech plywood with a 1.2 mm spiral-toothed flute. For more inspiring designs, visit https://www.zenziwerken.de/en/. Post-Printing The feet and thumbscrews were designed to withstand 2 or 3 layers of material bound together with wood glue. M6 hex-nuts/screws are press-fitted into the correct pockets and secured with superglue. To give it a personalized touch, I used spray paint on the top and applied transparent varnish for a smooth finish. The other parts were treated with hard wax oil to protect them.
