Flower Pot Fountain Base

Flower Pot Fountain Base

I bought a fun fountain at the Chatuchak Market. The problem was when we got it back home, the pump would get clogged and it was hard to keep the fountain working because it was mostly filled with pebbles. That wasn't a problem with a 3D printer. The picture shows the original, prototype post drill configuring, and final product. I find that printing the prototype clean helps in the prototyping stage (fountain_2). It's easier to physically figure out where the trims and drills are required with the actual parts - AKA you can always add a hole. Then you just have to add the details in CAD to make the final version (fountain_3). The final picture is of the fountain working, you might even say I got the ball rolling again. #dadjoke I liked how well it turned out so I thought I would upload it in case it inspires anyone else. Better yet, I hope the vendors one day stumble on this and start doing this instead of hot gluing a plant crate. It now holds more water so it runs for almost a week before we have to add water due to evaporation. Way less rock is required since it only hides the shelf. The pump is now situated under the fish, and the flow control can be easily accessed with the cutouts.
