Flow Restrictor for Shower
thingiverse
On my mission to live sustainably, I came to the realization that I couldn't give up my hot morning shower. So, I designed and built this flow restrictor that fits perfectly into the screw connector part of my shower. The upper outer diameter is 10mm, while the lower outer diameter measures around 7mm. Since I only found flat inlets on Thingiverse, I decided to create something that wouldn't render the black rubber seal useless. It has a precise fit: You can easily press it in by hand and remove it just as easily with your Leatherman tool. The hole is quite small at 2mm. I recommend using a 2-4mm drill to adjust the hole according to your needs. Alternatively, you can use the 3D Builder from Microsoft to subtract a cylinder shape from my part. My preferred setting was achieved with a 2mm drill. To print this part successfully, it's essential to build it with support. The standard support provided by Slic3r did an excellent job. Due to its small size, I suggest applying active cooling while printing. As a Thingiverse thing, I had to include the 'T' on it.
