Flow Planter
thingiverse
A while back, I was captivated by the Self-Watering planter that's extremely popular on Thingiverse and fell deeply in love with its concept, but then I realized that perhaps the thinking was purely from a design perspective and not from an actual plant enthusiast. The problem I encountered was unless watering was precise, roots could end up sitting in water - some plants thrive in those conditions, but the plants I grow tend to prefer well-drained soil. So I decided to create a plant pot that drains the soil without needing a plate. My design allows water to flow through the soil and provides proper drainage which is essential for most seeds and saplings. There's a small spout at the bottom so if the plant is over-watered, excess water can be poured into an adjacent plant pot - so no water goes to waste - or somewhere else if necessary. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
