Florida Sinkhole Disaster
sketchfab
On July 25, 2017, researchers with the University of South Florida Library's Digital Heritage and Humanities Collections conducted a thorough 3D survey of the Pasco County sinkhole near Saxon Lake. In collaboration with USF School of Geosciences researchers, we are working to integrate our GPS data with their Ground Penetrating Radar surveys for more comprehensive results. Halo Imaging has graciously provided access to their high-quality RTK drone imagery collected over multiple days, allowing us to gather meaningful comparison data. The DHHC and USF Libraries are creating a valuable database archive of this research effort and developing a web application portal that shares historic maps and essential information about the area's environmental history (visit: http://arcg.is/0LuCnL ).
