I take apart the old mop head attachment because it's broken. I make a new mop head adaptor by designing a flower-shaped base with two screws to secure it tightly. The bottom of the base now has an extra curve, which helps generate more force on the mop string when mopping. This curved design also allows for more space at the exit point for the mop string. As you use the mop, the gap between the string and the new base might decrease due to moisture. To fix this, simply tighten the screws again. If the mop string gets tangled up, don't worry – it's easy to unscrew, re-string, and put everything back together in no time.
