Floodlight Hood
thingiverse
Protects interior bulbs exposed to the outdoors. Recommend printing in ABS for optimal results. Issues may arise when used with incandescent bulbs or in high-heat environments. Conducted an unscientific heat test at a room temperature of 80 degrees, taken at the hottest location using a 65w flood bulb or equivalent. Utilized a PLA printed hood. Incandescent bulbs reached temperatures of 190 degrees Fahrenheit, causing the hood to soften. CFLs measured 140 degrees, but the lamp base was too large for compatibility. LEDs showed no issues, maintaining a temperature of 100 degrees. A two-hour print is required, allowing users to scale Z axes based on bulb design. Use at your own risk. Incandescent bulbs are not recommended due to potential safety hazards.
