Flood light tower The files contain an assembled truss gantry that can be printed for your convenience. The parts list includes a disassembled truss gantry, which you will need to assemble using CA glue. Position the floods at any angle before gluing them in place. Glue the LEDs firmly into their respective holders. Wiring the electrics is a bit fiddly, but it's doable with some patience. I spent 90 minutes wiring up two of these units, and it was a worthwhile investment. The internal z section truss to replace one that I damaged is included in the towertruss.stl file. Electrics 1. Wire three 3528 LEDs together in series with a 150 ohm resistor for 12V operation. I used thin enamelled motor winding wire, and obtained the LEDs and resistor from a LED light strip. 2. The cut corner on the front of the LED denotes the negative terminal, so make sure to connect it correctly. 3. When soldering wires to the floodlights, remember to pass them through the holes first, leaving two 30 cm wires that will thread down through the inside of the truss gantry and connect to 12V under the baseboard. 4. I used a surface mount resistor 'tombstoned' onto the last LED cathode connection with a flying wire (see photo). 5. Use CA glue to secure the LEDs into the floodlights, and make sure they are firmly in place.
