I am thrilled that the model "Floating Table Top" has captured everyone's imagination! I've been aware of its complex assembly process and have warned others about the need for patience, as it wasn't easy even for me. To simplify this task, I came up with a solution to adjust and secure the 4 tensioning strings during assembly. To achieve this, I attached small blocks with notches at the bottom of the table base, allowing the tensioning threads to be clamped and secured after adjustment. The original model featured double tension threads, but I made changes for this version. By connecting opposite tension points with a single thread, the design becomes even more visually appealing. Here are the dimensions: tabletop diameter 150mm, base diameter 80mm, and height approximately 140mm. For the tensioning string, I chose a nylon string with a diameter of 0.35mm. You can also use a thread or dental floss for this purpose. Start by inserting the middle parts into the table top and the table foot into the provided holes. Use the arrows at the bottom to ensure correct alignment, as shown in the 4th picture. Due to the tight fitting accuracy, you may need to fine-tune with a cutter knife or sandpaper before applying superglue. Next, insert a string into the holes of the middle parts, leaving about 20-25mm between them. Once the middle parts are securely glued, move on to the challenging part. Place the table top with its bottom side facing up and prepare 4 threads approximately 30cm long. Take one thread, make a multiple knot at one end, and then pull it through the hole of a fixing point on the underside of the table top. Pass the string through a hole in the table base while paying attention to the alignment of the middle parts. Simply clamp the string for now. If the notch is not clean, use a cutter knife to open it up. Repeat this process with the other 3 strings. Now you can start adjusting the tension. Avoid tightening the threads too much, as this may cause the middle parts to deform. Once the strings are slightly tightened and the table foot and top are aligned horizontally, you can secure the strings. Hurray! You've successfully achieved a floating table top!
