Floating Separator Tank
thingiverse
If you have a fish that's injured, weak or sick, and you need to isolate it from its tankmates, you can use this floating compartment to house the troubled finned friend temporarily. The separate unit itself is engineered to stay afloat effortlessly, so just drop the fish inside - the water flow should remain unaffected since it circulates freely, similar to how water moves around in the main aquarium. By providing isolation, stress levels among your fish will be kept to a minimum while promoting faster recovery for the ailing individual. However, be cautious: this method isn't ideal for dealing with highly contagious illnesses as it won't remove the infected fish entirely from contact with other tank dwellers, potentially spreading the disease further. According to calculations I've run, the models should remain stable when floating - larger units might actually behave better in terms of buoyancy than their smaller counterparts. During printing, positioning the component with holes facing upwards on your print bed ensures you can dispense with any supports, saving you time and simplifying the process.
