Floating raft Hydroponic pod
prusaprinters

This is a single net pot pod that will float on water, the same way a raft system does, however this can be used on its own as a basket for floating plants in, or rafted together using 8mm magnets (optional, can also be glued together if required) There are 2 versions: Version A has an open float to allow for foam to be added, Version B has a closed float but may not be as reliable. Both pods measure 112mm across the float.

Fill the net pot with hydroponic media, the lighter the better in this case, (I recomend expanded clay pellets) and float in a body of water deeper than the pot. I recomend adding some closed cell foam to the under side on the float of version A to ensure it remains floating, reused packaging is ideal.

Printed with no supports on speed setting. For version B choose an infil that will create a large area of air inside, and a low %. 5% should be enough. Increase the layers to 4 or 5 to decrease the chance of water seeping inside.

Just slot the base in place once printed. A few dots of glue are recomended to secure it in.
