Floating Pyramid LED-ready
thingiverse
I am printing Giandroid's Version of the Floating Pyramid for a friend when I realize it would be amazing with some LEDs. So I start modifying the necessary parts to fit 5mm LEDs. I also change the portal by adding tiny steps and trying to recreate the original twirling portal. Everything is printed, and it should basically work. But it's not fully assembled yet, so I will keep this a WIP. Note: These are only my modified parts that replace the corresponding parts of Giandroid's Version. So you still need to download his files. For the LEDs to work, you'll need to print some of these parts with translucent Material. I found some bright green PLA that is basically exact Necron color. But you could go with blue or whatever you like. You'll need 26 5mm LEDs. You'll have to figure out a circuit for yourself, but the internet is your friend. The hole in the bottom plate is for a switch to turn it on from the outside. Also, the entire Bottom is removable to allow access to the battery. You will need eight Neodym Magnets (10mm diameter, 2mm thick) that insert into the bottom corner. I will update this as soon as I finish my own.
