Floating Numbers Wall Clock
thingiverse
The concept behind this timepiece design revolves around creating a visually striking effect by employing a subtle colour shift in the final millimeter or so of the filament to make the numbers appear as if they're suspended in mid-air. The base is crafted to accommodate a 57mm square movement featuring an 8mm central screw/shaft, ensuring a secure and precise fit. To minimize the need for support material during printing, I designed the faceplate/base cover separately. UPDATE: After experiencing issues with my initial print, specifically with one edge of the diagonal spokes curling up and causing the extruder to jam, leading to misaligned prints, I revised my design. The new version (V2) has printed flawlessly, and the addition of a filament colour change from white to black in the last millimeter creates a striking visual impact. Once assembled, I will upload a photo showcasing the finished product.
