Floating Laptop Stand

I wanted a laptop stand that could support my very large, very heavy, HP ZBook 15 G3. The thing weighs 5.7 lbs and is 264mm deep! I tried a few other stands but I couldn't print normal style stands large enough on my ender 3 V2. They always left it unstable. Since I couldn't print those designs big enough, the solution was to make it work in a smaller footprint.

By holding on to the top side, this stand can support the whole laptop without needing the frame to be as deep as the laptop. It also let me raise the laptop completely off the surface so that there is space for papers, cables, keyboards, etc. There is a finger hole so you can pick the laptop up and hold the stands on. The stands are enclosed on the side so that they are not finicky to place, they sit in exactly one place. The laptop lid can close enough that the laptop will go into sleep mode.

The design was created in OpenSCAD and is customizable for any laptop, or for different tilt angles, or lift heights.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

15%

Filament:
Hatchbox PLA Black

Notes:

I only generated the left side leg, you must mirror the print in your slicer to create the right side leg.

Category: Computer
