Floating Helmet Mount
thingiverse
A floating helmet mount! Fairly simple, you can use it to mount your favorite 3D printed helmet creations on the wall in a cool-looking way. Should work with most helmet designs. - The hinge will require a M3 screw or similar. - The holes on the sides are used to place additional M3 screws (or similar) for mounting springs or rubber bands that keep the clamp closed. I have a few different holes so you can customize where springs or rubber bands are located depending on what you have and how strong you need it to be. - Drywall screws will be needed to mount it to the wall. I used #6 Nylon drywall screws by Hillman. I only needed 2, but there are holes to place up 6 six if needed. - I glued a piece of foam onto the base piece after it was mounted to protect the outside of the helmet from scratches. - Holes may need to be reamed out with a drill to fit your screws. This model was inspired by a video from the I Like to Make Stuff Youtube channel titled: "Floating Helmet Display Mounts | I Like To Make Stuff". His was made from metal and looks a bit different and is harder to make. I created this model myself. Let me know what you think! Enjoy!
