Floating Cube Illusion

Floating Cube Illusion

This uses four strings in tension to keep the cube in place, making it appear as if it's floating. To achieve different colored cubes, you'll need to print a Green Cube, a Red Cube Without Corner, and a Red Corner. The corner can be secured with superglue after the other cube has been interlocked. Alternatively, you can print the cubes pre-interlocked, but this will result in only one color. For printing purposes, supports are required, except for the holes in the corner. I used 100% infill. The setup consists of three strings on the outside and one on the inside. Fishing wire was used to create a floating effect. To assemble it, tie three basic knots at one end of the fishing wire to prevent slippage through the hole. Then, superglue the end into one hole. Feed the other end through the opposite hole and secure it with tape. Superglue the other end in place. Once the glue has dried, remove the tape. Repeat this process for all four strings. I completed the "inside" string last and made it slightly shorter than necessary to ensure a tight fit without compromising the middle string's tension. Finally, cut off any excess string and enjoy your creation!
