Endstop Mount for PCB Type Endstops: A Custom Solution for Reliable Contact When using PCB type endstops, available at Amazon and other suppliers, their mounting can be a challenge. Makerbot's design offers an innovative solution by allowing you to attach the limit switch directly to your 2020 extrusion on the same side as the belt. This is particularly useful when achieving reliable contact with mechanisms proves difficult from other sides. To assemble this endstop mount, you'll need clippers for cutting soldering pins and removing excess solder from the PCB's bottom surface. A flush and square mounting is crucial for a secure hold. Additionally, you'll require 2 M3 x 8 mm nuts and bolts, with longer bolts being discouraged as they may interfere with installation on the extrusion without washers (as depicted in pictures). Furthermore, 2 M5 x 10 mm screws and T-nuts are necessary to ensure a firm grip on the limit switch that can withstand mechanism crashes. Such incidents often occur when modifying system logic. This endstop mount was tested on a 1.9 m x 1 m gantry system for a Farmbot, demonstrating reliable contact with V-wheels on the system.
