I built this bracket to protect my motor, which stuck out far beyond what I felt was safe. To address this issue, I decided to mount the firewall flat against the front of the fuselage instead of recessing it as the instructions recommended. I'm unsure how many others have taken a similar approach, but I thought sharing my solution might be helpful.
