I built a few custom mini motor pods where extra narrow was a must-have. To make it happen, I took an existing mini nose that was taking quite a beating, but adding doublers made it a much better fit. However, the stock motor pod no longer fit after making those modifications. If your motor area is about one or two foam-board widths narrower than standard, this might be what you need. To make it easy to reference where the holes should go, I added a template piece that has a long side and a short side with an extension on one end. This takes into account the fact that the motor pod firewall often sits at an angle. You may not want or need to use this for alignment, but options are always good! The holes in this custom motor pod are 4mm wide and spaced about 20mm apart center to center. They're also roughly ~9mm from the nose of the foam-board to the edge of the first hole.
