FLIRC Cover Mount

FLIRC Cover Mount

I've got a Pi 3B+ and picked up a gen2 FLIRC case a while back, loving its passive cooling features. I've been weighing the pros and cons of mounting it to the frame, wondering if the added weight on top makes a difference. I finally decided to go for it after checking out some mount options. The first one I saw was this print from Prusa Printers: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/2014-flirc-case-mount-for-mk3 . It wasn't quite my style, but it gave me an idea. I also came across this cover on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3572286 , which I liked a bit more. So, I designed a new "mount" that combined elements of both. To be honest, the original design wasn't reused except for the measurement between the mounting holes. Here are some quick notes: This mount replaces the screwed-in cover on the FLIRC case. The cover is extended out slightly for added support. It has bars across the bottom for extra stability. The bars are cut out to provide full access to the USB ports, and I think the ethernet port can be accessed too (though I haven't tried it). I removed the crossbar that goes under the SD card on purpose because pulling the card out was a bit of a hassle when putting the case on or taking it off.
